Abstract

The claim of Learning Analytics is that we can use “big data” to improve the quality of education and educational outcomes. But what does “quality education” mean, and how do we measure it? We unpack the assumptions of education and explore how Moodle Learning Analytics allows educational organizations to define, predict, and support “success,” based on data from course design, teacher and student activity, and authentic outcome measures.
